NorthStitch Co. operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). NorthStitch Co. is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information We Collect or Process

When we use the term "personal information", we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified so that it cannot identify you. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services:

  • Contact details including your name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number where provided, and email address.
  • Financial information including credit card, debit card, and bank account numbers, payment details, financial account details, transaction details, form of payment, payment confirmation, and other payment details.
  • Account information including your username, password, security questions, preferences, and settings.
  • Transaction and order information including items you view, put in your cart, add to your wishlist, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel, and your past transactions.
  • Communications with us including information you include in communications with us, for example, when sending a customer support inquiry.
  • Body and garment measurements including measurements you provide so we can produce made-to-measure and custom-tailored garments for you. These are garment measurements, not medical or health information.
  • Fit preferences including fit and style preferences you share with us in connection with your order.
  • Marketing preferences including your preferences for receiving marketing communications.
  • Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers where applicable.
  • Usage information including information regarding your interaction with the Services, including how and when you interact with the Services.

Personal Information Sources

We may collect personal information from the following sources:

  • Directly from you, including when you create an account, visit or use the Services, communicate with us (including through the chat feature), or otherwise provide personal information to us;
  • Automatically through the Services, including from your device when you use our products or services or visit our websites, and through the use of cookies and similar technologies;
  • From our service providers, including when our service providers collect or process your personal information on our behalf in order to provide services to us; and
  • From our partners and other third parties.

Measurements for Custom Orders

Because NorthStitch produces made-to-measure and custom-tailored garments, we collect body and garment measurements and fit preferences that you provide. We use this information to:

  • create your made-to-measure garments;
  • review your measurements and contact you if something appears inconsistent;
  • produce your order;
  • provide fit support, including reviewing eligible alteration requests;
  • provide customer service related to your order; and
  • maintain appropriate order records.

Measurements are collected only for these order-related purposes. They are not medical or health information. Please review your submitted measurements carefully and correct any errors before confirming your order and before production begins, as described in our Custom Orders & Measurements policy. Measurements may be shared with service providers needed to fulfill your order, as described below.

How We Use Your Personal Information

  • Provide, Tailor, and Improve the Services. We use your personal information to provide you with the Services, including to perform our contract with you, to process your payments, to fulfill your orders, to produce your made-to-measure garments, to review your measurements, to provide fit support, and to remember your preferences and settings. This may include using your personal information to better tailor the Services to you.
  • Marketing and Advertising. We may use your personal information for marketing and promotional purposes where you have consented to receive marketing communications, such as to send marketing, advertising, and promotional communications by email, text message, or push notification, and to show you advertisements for products or services. We do not add you to marketing lists without your consent, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option and identifies NorthStitch Co. as the sender.
  • Security and Fraud Prevention. We use your personal information to detect, investigate, or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal, or malicious activity.
  • Communicating with You. We use your personal information to provide you with customer support, including to respond to your requests and inquiries, and to improve our Services. This may include communicating with you about your measurements, your order, fit support, or delivery.
  • Legal Reasons. We use your personal information to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our store and provide the Services. Specifically, our store uses:

  • Shopify's cookies and technologies, which are used to operate the store — including keeping items in your cart, remembering your preferences, keeping the store secure, processing checkout, and understanding how visitors use the store through Shopify's analytics; and
  • Shopify Inbox chat, which powers the chat feature on our site and may use cookies or similar technologies so the chat works properly.

We have not installed any third-party advertising pixels or analytics platforms on our store. No cookie banner or privacy-preference control is currently displayed, consistent with the regions we sell in. You can control cookies through your browser settings — for example, by blocking or deleting cookies — though some parts of the store may not work properly if you do.

How We Disclose Personal Information

In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include:

  • With Shopify, vendors, and other third parties who perform services on our behalf (e.g., IT management, payment processing, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfillment, and shipping), but only as needed to fulfill your order or operate the store. This includes sharing your measurements with the workshop that produces your garment, as needed to make your made-to-measure or custom-tailored items.
  • With business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and advertise to you where you have consented.
  • When you direct, request, or otherwise consent to our disclosure of certain information to third parties, such as to ship you products or through your use of social media widgets or login integrations.
  • With our affiliates or otherwise within our corporate group.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with any applicable legal obligations (including to respond to subpoenas, search warrants, and similar requests), to enforce any applicable terms of service or policies, and to protect or defend the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or others.

We take reasonable safeguards to help protect your personal information — including your measurements — against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, but we use measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to maintain appropriate order records, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
